I was at home that particular morning and one of my neighbour called me
I ran over and we watched it together on T.V.
It just seemed so unreal.
I drove to school and got my kids and brought them all home.
I tried to call relatives around Boston for 24 hours and couldn't get through (they are frequent flyers)
I spent 2 days trying to explain to my 6 year old that this was real and not a made up movie.
It was horrible day.

my employer (huge corporation) sent an email to everyone in the fresno office yesterday, letting us know that in the spirit of 09/11, we were permitted to dress casually *if* we wore red, white and blue.. true to style, the jdubs on my floor showed up in ...... purple polyester.

just heard this on the news..he had massive heart attack..he was i believe they said 54..i loved him in 3's company..was a good acter...
I am sad.. John Ritter.. was much tooo young.

i'm not a big johnny cash fan, but he was a cornerstone for the country music industry.. john ritter was a funny guy, i wiil always remember three's company.. they will both be missed.
Two of my teenage kids and I, heard it on the radio, as I drove them to school
Johnny Cash.. I sung them some of the song "I walk the line".. they curled up their noses. They are not into country,
However, when we talked about "John Ritter".. from "8 simple rules for dating my teenage daughter".. Well, that was different because we all like to watch that.
Shocked at John Ritters premature death.

When I read your post Farkel I started thinking about the subject of
"Delayed Gratification".
I think that is what a lot of J.W.'s end up sufferring from.
They keep doing the J.W. thing and service thing looking forward to the reward
A reward that never comes.
If you think of how many times the end of the world has been forcast by them J.W.'s and how many times it has not happenned.
I think that there "delayed gratification" has turned into "never gratification"

ive always considered myself a christian.
even before i was roped into the world of dubs at the age of 7, i attended a baptist church.
it never entered my mind that the bible wasnt gods word and that jesus was or wasnt the son of god.

Sometimes, I think, its not the argument being won or not..
It's the thrill of the lively discussions that I love to read.
The differeing views.. some given very passionately I must say.
The acceptance of knowing that even if your view of something isn't really main stream as the rest..
You just can't get disfellowshipped for it.
And that is what makes the forum a safer place to be than inside a kingdom hall.

After 10 years, this is the first year that I really felt I was ready to vote.
However, I just didn't have the time to read and figure out who was the best one to vote for.
and I didn't want to vote based on who was the best looking.
Maybe, next year.
My spouse is an American so he did not vote here in Canada.

When the memorial was onT.V this morning, I was at the gym . The gym t.v. was going, and when they had the moment of silence. I stood too, and paused to remember that horrible day. Paused and stood in respect for the for those who died and respect for their families. Paused to remember the firefighters, police officers, emergency crews that lost their lives that day. Truly a time to remember. It is a part of my psyche.. and will always know exactly where and what I was doing on the fateful morning of Sept 11, 2001.
